SEEDBUILDERS SAFE SPACE FOR GENDER BASED VIOLENCE SURVIVORS
(Advocacy, support and capacity building for young girls and women vulnerable
to Gender-based violence in the North Central region of Nigeria)
The Seedbuilders Safe Space for Gender based Violence victims, is a new initiative of Seedbuilders Foundation. The Safe space is a walk-in center that will provide victims of Gender Based Violence a place where they can safely have conversations with our inhouse therapist on their experience.
At the Safe Space we provide Counselling and Therapy, Mentorship, Digital Training, Skills Acquisition and Capacity building workshops while we partner with other stakeholders to provide Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) Information, Legal and Medical Consultations and other services such as law enforcement agencies, peer connection and support.
This initiative provides the victims with information and a means of empowering themselves. They can know their rights, their risks and needs.
The Safe Space collaborates with police officers, lawyers and select CSO’s to ensure the victims are provided with necessary dignity kits, psychological support, access to care and protection if need be. The Safe Space was launched on 10th of December 2021 and was opened to the youths (between the ages of 18 to 35) in need of our support.
